Welcome to New Zealand Certificate in English Language Level 4 (NZCEL Level 4)
The New Zealand Certificate in English Language Level 4 puts students on the path towards participation in English in academic settings. Students will develop the ability to communicate effectively in familiar and some less familiar situations with fluency and flexibility in an academic context. By the end of the course students will be able to understand the main ideas and details in moderately complex academic speech and participate in sustained academic discussion. They will also understand the main idea and details in moderately complex written academic texts and be able to write detailed, moderately complex essays. This programme is worth 60 credits and involves a total of 600 hours class time and self-study.
