Welcome to New Zealand Certificate in English Language Level 5 (NZCEL Level 5)
The purpose of the New Zealand Certificate in English Language Level 5 is to prepare students for higher education conducted in English. The course develops the skills needed to communicate independently and effectively in situations, both familiar and unfamiliar, with fluency and flexibility in academic contexts. By the end of the course students will be able to understand lengthy, complex spoken and written language on a wide range of topics. They will have the ability to participate flexibility and effectively in academic discussions and write well structured, sophisticated academic texts on a wide range of topics. This programme is worth 60 credits and involves a total of 600 hours class time and self-study.
